Lord’s Taverners South Africa
February 20, 2025The newly formed Mpumelelo Project is a project launched by Sport Skills 4 Life Skills (SS4LS) and partnered with WPCA to enhance the current provincial development program in the Cape Town townships. In addition to providing much needed impetus to the development of cricket skills, the program will also focus on providing academic and career opportunities and support.
Our first scholarship holder, Bulela Klaas started off very well at Bishops this year and has been playing some warm-up matches from the 6th of January against Wynberg Boys, Pretoria High, Paarl Gym to name a new and as expected, he did very with the ball by taking not less than two wickets per game.
On the 12th of January he went to the sport physio for 40 minutes for an injury prevention session. On the 13th and 14th, he went to the school shop to fit his school uniform and was allocated his books and a laptop. Bulela also moved into his new boarding house called the “Founders” where he will be based for the year.
On the 15th Bulela wore his new Bishops uniform with pride and a smile as he attended his first lessons with his new classmates. His joy was visible in his face and eyes. After a full two weeks at Bishops, Bulela is still amazed by how the big the school is and how the culture of brotherhood is alive with almost every learner at the school.
